About Chris Vibberts

Chris Vibberts can compose music for your film, TV, or multimedia project using a variety of acoustic, electronic, modern, and ethnic instruments, recorded with both digital and analog technologies. His music has been featured in a number of award-winning full length, short, and documentary films.

Chris grew up in New England and began learning Black Sabbath guitar riffs at the age of 13. He quickly decided to make music his life path and went to Berklee College of Music out of high school. He gigged in smoky nightclubs from the time he was 15 and soon developed the skill of staying up late and sleeping until noon that every musician needs. After college, Chris spent a year writing and recording for 60's pop icon Gene Pitney and his son Todd Pitney. After touring the country playing wherever he could-coffee houses, clubs, beaches, folk festivals, on Bourbon Street- for the good part of a year, he ended up in Northern California where he lives today.

Vibberts"While living in the Bay Area, Chris has written, recorded, and performed with a number of rock, funk, country, and experimental bands including High Horse, The Infamous They, and Allison McLeod, as well as his own alt rock group Chris Vibberts Affair. Chris performed on and produced Rose Logue Harting's stunning CD, "Fly". He studied Sitar for several years with Ali Akbar Khan protege Peter Van Gelder. He currently performs and records with Rose Logue, Arann Harris and the Farm Band, and Ragas to Riches. Over the years, Chris has shared the stage with Willie Nelson, Doobie Brothers, Johnathan Richmond, Billy C. Farlow, Little Feat, .38 Special, the Outlaws, Limpopo, David Grisman, and Sam Bush, amongst hundreds of others."

In recent years, Chris has been involved in the world of film scoring. His first score was for Trick Knee Productions' award-winning entry into the 48-Hour Film Project called "Like Lightning". Since then, he has scored a variety of award-winning full length, short, and documentary films.

What Others Have to Say About Me:

“CHRIS VIBBERTS is a name that should be in every producer's rolodex under *E* as in EPIC musical resource. TINBIKE has worked with Chris on three projects (one commercial + two industrials) in the last calendar year, and each time he has clearly understood and absolutely nailed our soundtrack desires. A Few Things to Note About Mr. Vibberts... Not only is Mr. Vibberts both highly creative and highly efficient, but he has a master's proficiency with every single object in one of the most exotic collections of instruments around... He can create your score with rich, live recordings of unusual sounds like: the hypnotic tone of an Optigan, the delicate, tinny sprinkling of the Marxophone, the vibrations of Sitar strings, or he could just as easily go the other route and pluck sounds from fantastic digital sample libraries to generate an entire composition digitally. Either way, *he-is-on-it!* Producer's Bonus: Mr. Vibberts' digital deliveries are always of the highest sonic value, well on time and always snag free. Additional Bonus: Mr. Vibberts is an absolute joy to work with. He is literally one of the most kind and thoughtful talents you will ever have the pleasure of working with. Period. Above all, Mr. Vibberts is very passionate about music and sound. It shows in the details of his compositions. We truly look forward to the next opportunity to collaborate with him... So, we only ask that you, please, don't hog up his calendar."

"TINBIKE Productions hired Chris as a music composer - commercial & film score in 2008 , and hired Chris more than once “Saw a film reel with Chris's score, I was very impressed by the wide range of musical styles and ambient mood -- all strong and emotional without overwhelming the shots. Tight work.”November 24, 2009
Eric J. Adams , Founder/Producer , Sleeperwave Productions

His love for vintage and ethnic instruments will have you hearing innovative combinations of drum machines, analog synths, and old guitars alongside the sitar, accordion, berimbau, and saz."

His music has been featured in a variety of award winning full length, short, and documentary films, as well as commercials."

"He's awsome to listen to!

"One of my favorite things about Wednesday nights at Sizzling Tandoor is the live entertainment, i.e. Chris Vibberts. He plays classic Sitar (Indian Guitar) for the restaurant, but also plays in other bands and does music for film. Chris is a really great guy and talented musician who I recommend you check out immediately."
